We are on this earth to love.
On this earth.
At this moment.
To love…
Just…love.
We are on this earth to love
All the life that lives on it.

All of it.
Not just some. All.
Not just faces like ours.
Skin like ours.
Not just lives like ours
In zipcodes like ours.

We are on this earth to love. 
To love. All of it.
To love it all the way God loves us.
The way God loves it,
To love the God we meet within it.

We are on this earth to love.
And not just humans.
No. 

We are on this earth to love
every plant, every shy shoot, 
every blossom, every weed.
Every creature great and small.

We are on this earth to love.
The aardvarks and the whales
The cockatoos
And sloths.
The bears and badgers and
Birds and bees
In all their strange and
Unruly, extraordinary otherness.

And yes, the terrifying and wonderful wilderness. Around us.
And within us. 

And of course, the  soil… every inch of life-giving soil.

This water, these trees, those mountains, 
that unbearably beautiful sky and the sun that burns within it.

And this air 
This air we breathe.

This is why we’re here.
This is what we’re called to.
This is what gives us life.
